Get started as an administrator
This page is for administrators: the people who set up and look after an organisation’s workspace in Storyteq CMP. That work covers who can use the workspace, how content is organised, and which templates and channels teams can work with.
It brings together the guides an administrator needs. Administrators usually have the Client Admin role preset. What each preset can do is listed in User role presets and permissions.
Start with a tutorial
New to Storyteq CMP? These tutorials teach the basics hands-on, in your own workspace. They stand alone, so start with whichever task comes first for you.
Understand the basics
These pages explain the building blocks you configure as an administrator. Read them first if you’re new to how Storyteq CMP controls access and organises content.
Set up your workspace for the first time
Your workspace is created for you before you first sign in. Work through these steps in order, so each one has what it needs from the steps before it.
-
Set up your taxonomy: create the keyword categories and keywords your teams use to tag and filter content.
-
Add your portals: create the portals your teams work in. To build out their pages, navigation, and styling, use the guides in Set up portals.
-
Create lenses: control which assets appear on each portal page, using your taxonomy keywords.
-
Add keywords to templates: let users filter the templates they see.
-
Connect integrated channels: let users publish to, or source assets from, third-party platforms.
-
Invite your users: add the people who use the workspace and give each one a role.
-
Add users to groups: organise people so you can manage access and notifications together.
Look after your workspace
Once your workspace is running, most ongoing administration is about people and keywords. Return to these guides as your teams and campaigns change.
Related roles
Administrators often work alongside these roles, and may cover them in smaller teams.
-
Portal creator: builds and styles the portals your teams use.
-
Asset librarian: uploads, tags, and publishes assets in the DAM.
Not quite your role? Every role is listed in Get started by role.
