Publish adaptations to the DAM

This guide explains how to publish approved adaptations from Files to a DAM library. Publishing to the DAM is the final stage of the content production workflow: it adds the approved adaptation to the shared library, where everyone with access can find and reuse it.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An approved adaptation in Files. Adaptations must be approved through a review before they can be published. To run a review, use Create and run a review.

Publish an adaptation to the DAM

  1. In My Content > Files, find the approved adaptation.

  2. Open the actions menu and select Publish to DAM.

To publish several at once, select the adaptations and choose Publish to DAM from the actions bar at the top of the list.

  3. In the Publish to DAM dialog, choose the DAM library to publish to. If more than one library is available, select one from the dropdown.

  4. Select Confirm to publish.

A copy of each adaptation is added to the chosen library. The adaptations remain in Files, so publishing copies them to the DAM rather than moving them.

Publish to DAM is available only for approved adaptations. For an adaptation that has not been approved, the action is greyed out and explains why when you hover over it. If you select a mix of approved and unapproved adaptations, a message lists the unapproved ones and lets you continue with the approved ones.
