Publish approved assets to the DAM
This guide explains how to publish approved assets from a project to the DAM. Publishing runs as the Publish to DAM workflow transition.
For publishing adaptations from from My Content instead, refer to Publish adaptations to the DAM.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
-
A user role with permission to add assets to the project (project owner or editor). Without it, you cannot trigger any transition in the workflow panel, including Publish to DAM.
-
A project in the correct state for publishing. The assets must have been approved. Refer to Create and run a review.
-
Required Taxonomy applied to the assets. If required taxonomy is missing, the assets are not published.
| An administrator configures the DAM and its libraries. If the library you expect does not appear, contact your administrator. |
Publish to the DAM
-
Select Content Portal from the app switcher in the left navigation.
-
Select Collaborate, then select the All Projects tab.
-
Open a project that contains approved assets.
-
In the workflow panel in the upper-right corner of the project, select the Publish to DAM transition.
If more than one transition is available, review the options and select the one that applies.
-
Select Go.
The automated actions defined in the workflow are triggered, including publishing the assets to the DAM. If the transition does not complete, the assets are not published and the project does not move to the next stage.
Troubleshooting
Each problem below is a common reason an asset is not published. Select one to see how to fix it.
Problem: The workflow panel shows "No actions required on your end".
Solution: The project is waiting on another user. Different users can complete different stages, so the user responsible for the current stage must complete it. To see who completed each action and when, select {icon-clock} in the workflow panel to open the project history.
Problem: The transition is not available, or the project does not move to the next stage after you trigger it.
Solution: Check the prerequisites. The transition works only when the project is in the correct state, the assets are approved, and the required taxonomy is applied.
Problem: The assets do not appear in the DAM after publishing.
Solution: Check the project history to confirm the transition completed. If the transition completed, contact your administrator to check that the library is configured.
